I would like to extend my sympathies to the family and friends of Heath, as his passing was a most unfortunate and untimely. He will be missed.
Heath passed away on January 22, 2008. He was found my his housekeeper and massage therapist at around 2:45pm. Though attempts were made to revive him, paramedics pronounced him dead when they arrived. No cause has made public as of yet.
Heath Ledger was doing good as an actor in Australia but with a couple good breaks in the US he has landed in the mainstream of Hollywood film roles. Early on he starred in a teen romantic comedy called 10 Things I Hate About You . He then landed a great part in The Patriot, Gabriel Martin, along side Mel Gibson. This role would clearly show us that Heath was much more than a "teen hunk" of an actor. The following year A Knight's Tale was released...this has been one of Heath's defining movies. Since then Heath has been in some good films with some of Hollywood's best, such as Monster's Ball (Halle Barry & Billy Bob Thornton), Ned Kelly (Orlando Bloom, Geoffrey Rush & Naomi Watts), The Brothers Grimm (Matt Damon), Brokeback Mountain (Jake Gyllenhaal) & Casanova (Sienna Miller & Jeremy Irons). Heath just appeared in a nice romantic movie with Australia's sweetheart, Abbie Cornish, called Candy. He is also slated to be the Joker in The Dark Knight, the sequel to Batman Begins and Bob Dylan in the movie I'm Not There. Check out all of Heath's movies available on DVD.
